Brief Bio of the Instructor
Ustaadh Abu Abur Rahman Samir is a teacher and Khateeb at Masjid Tawheed located in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Hadith and Islamic Studies at The Islamic University of Madinah (KSA). He completed a diploma in Aqeedah (creed) from the Faculty of Da’wah & Fundamentals of Islām.
Not only did Ustaadh Samir benefit from the Islamic University of Madinah, he also benefited from the scholars who teach in Masjid an-Nabawī and those who taught outside Masjid an-Nabawī. Ustaadh Samir has taught numerous books in different topics, Hadith, Aqeedah, Arabic, Manners etc. He is a teacher and active member of his local community and the broader Atlanta Georgia community.
Course Description
Knowledge is one of the most essential things for a Muslim to posses. Without Islamic knowledge one would be lost in life. –Possessing Knowledge allows mankind to evolve, our minds to become open and so Allah can guide us from darkness into light. During this seminar we’ll be covering the importance of Seeking Knowledge and its virtues. The first thing Allah commanded our Prophet ﷺ to do was “Read”.
“اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ * خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ * اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ * الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ * عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ”
“Read in the name of your Lord who created- Created man from a clinging substance- Read, and your Lord is the most Generous- Who taught by the pen- Taught man that which he knew not.” (Al -‘Alaq)
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand the importance of seeking Islamic knowledge and its virtues.
- Understand the importance of acting upon knowledge.
- Understand how the Salaf sought knowledge.
Course Materials
Students are required to have a notebook and a pen.
