Our Background

Ibn Umar Islamic Centre, is an Islamic institution based on the motto “Education & Cultivation”. We aim to educate and cultivate Muslims living in Toronto by conducting regular courses, seminars, and programs aimed at providing a safe and enriching learning environment for our community. 
 
We plan on tackling this by conducting after school programs and maintaining a center that hosts weekly drop-ins, as well as gender inclusive programs conducted for and by Women. 
 
The immediate goals of this center is to provide the following five-pronged approach, which will remain the backbone of the project for its first phase (12-24 months):
 
1. Weekend Islamic Institute for Children
2. Classes & Seminars
3. After School Programs
4. Drop-In Services
In addition, ongoing classes at the center will include a weekly Quran Memorization Program lead by local Huffadh, weekly knowledge-based classes covering the basics of Islam, and Bi-Monthly Seminars delivered by reputable instructors.
 
The mission of this program is to educate and teach our community the correct understanding of Islam, sharing education from the Qur’an and the Sunnah with the understanding of the Salaf.
 
We look forward to embarking on this quest of knowledge and enrichment of faith with our beloved community.
